Germanium (Ge) single crystal is a chemically inert material with a transmission spectrum range of 2 to 12 micrometers. It is a commonly used infrared optical material, featuring high hardness, good thermal conductivity, and insolubility in water. Germanium single crystals are widely used in infrared imaging systems and infrared spectrometer systems. They have excellent mechanical energy and thermal conductivity, with very little absorption at 10.6 μ m, making them ideal materials for CO2 laser lenses, Windows and output coupling mirrors. When used as window glass, it can be coated as needed to increase the transmittance of the corresponding band. There are three types of anti-reflection coatings to choose from :3-5um, 8-12um and 3-12um.
